Interesting conversation with my daughter, the republican!
I told TJ it would be a good idea to get an angel from the angel tree, but I worried that Lindsey wouldn't like buying toys and then giving them away, so here's the conversation:
TJ: isn't sad that some kids don't get toys on Christmas?
Lindsey: No, they should be good and santa will bring them some.
TJ: but what if Santa can't find them?
Lindsey: they need to get a house.
TJ: What if they are good and they still don't get presents?
Lindsey: then their parents need to buy them some
TJ: what if they can't afford it?
Lindsey:then they need to be good for santa
She's going to press secretary some day!

Halloween 2008
The Halstead Kid's Costume Parade was bigger than ever this year!Lindsey was a peacock. When she didn't win first, second, or third in her age range we thought for sure she was going to be the overall winner. When the announcer announced that the "Potato Head family" was the winner we felt cheated, but we can't win EVERY YEAR... that would just be embarrassing!
Anywho, the Potato Head family had already left so, the announcer said that THE PEACOCK was the winner then!!
Later that evening, I saw my friend (the Potato Head mom) across the street and she said, "you have my prize." I said,"I don't know what you are talking about. heeeheeheee." And the peacock family moved along quickly. Of course, I feel guilty and want to split the loot with her, but my husband tells me I am silly.
I have to play bunko with Potato Head mom next month. Wish me luck. she might poke my eyes out.
